When you use Aperture22 we collect:

• Account information — email address, password hash, and optional profile details you provide.
• Photos you upload — images sent to the analysis engine. These are processed and not stored permanently unless you save them to your gallery.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and anonymised performance metrics to help us improve the product.
• Planner content — trip plans, notes, and GPS data you create and save.

2. How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Provide and improve the Aperture22 service
• Analyse photos and generate coaching feedback
• Generate and store your safari plans
• Send transactional emails (password reset, account notices)
• Understand how the product is used so we can make it better

We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-party services

Aperture22 uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Anthropic / Google / xAI — AI analysis and plan generation
• Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and database storage
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — map tiles and geocoding

Each service has its own privacy policy. Photos sent for analysis may be processed by AI providers subject to their data handling terms.

4. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. Uploaded photos are processed in memory and are not stored beyond your session unless explicitly saved.

5. Cookies and local storage

Aperture22 uses browser local storage to save your session token and theme preference. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify you of material changes via the email address on your account.
